About Women 4 Advancing Women - Minneapolis

We are a diverse group of women moved by the many challenges and injustices women face across the globe, and in our own backyards, simply because of our gender. We are moved to compassion, inspiration, tears and , too often, outrage. Individually, after reading an article or watching a piece on TV we may simply put down the newspaper, turn off the computer or TV and go about our days feeling, perhaps cynically, “what can I do?”

By coming together as a group, however, we create a format to engage each other in discussion, and to harness our collective experiences, knowledge, wisdom, and accountability to one another to take action. We hope to make a difference in the lives of our sisters here and abroad as well as in our own lives on a very grassroots level. The only requirement for joining this group is an interest in learning about issues impacting women and a willingness to wrestle with the question "what can WE do?".
